Cable harness routing capture

Flexible cable routing and clip insertion with RGB-D, deformation state, and clip-outcome metadata.

This is a custom capture program for flexible cable routing and clip insertion. Operators route your harness on a real board or cell while we record RGB-D, force, and clip outcomes, tagged with deformation state. It exists because a rigid peg insert and a cloth fold both miss how a cable twists, springs, and pops from a retainer.

What we collect

Routing episodes with clip-success labels across harnesses, clip types, and lighting. Twisted leads and popped clips sit beside clean routes so evaluation reflects deformable assembly, not a rigid jig.

How capture works

A pilot validates camera views along the board and the clip taxonomy, then capture scales using teleoperation capture and robotics data collection.

Who it is for

Industrial manipulation teams whose bottleneck is harness dress. The program sits under industrial manipulation data collection and pairs with torque-controlled bolt fastening when the same cell both routes and fastens.

Scenario FAQ

No. Cables deform and clip into retainers. Peg-in-hole is a rigid fit. Those remain separate programs.
